Does he like me more than a friend?

The guy I've liked for a long time in school we only ever speak by text but now have stopped he doesn't text back anymore we started again at christmas. . We still had never spoken face to face as he is n the year above me.So I spoke to him a few weeks go and we spoke on the way to the lockers asking how each other were he was walking beside me looking in to my eyes smiling as we spoke. Then the next week same day I saw him he spoke to me this time and my friend was there and he was mostly talking to me and beside me again and sounded happy. 2 weeks later I hadn't really seen him or spoken to him he had exams and school was off for the week. Since schools started back havent spoken to him really havent seen him much. I saw him in the gym the other day first time I knew he went there hes told me before he didn't know I went there now he was over with a fitness person waiting for something and I started looking at him then he saw me and I noticed he started me while waiting, then after when finished went upstairs. Before break in school thursaday he was putting a chair back into a cl and I was walking with a group of friends I saw him near and said hiya to him and he said hey smiling back my friends were in front of me then he kinda went back quickly for something i think or moved back. I carried on to walk down the corridor with my friends to the hall I then all of a sudden he was right behind me I could see him from the corner of my eye nearly against me. I wasn't sure if he went back to not talk to me or was just a bit shy to talk with my friends in front he confused me when he did that. Hes a quiet type of guy. Then today he had been in the office I was standing facing where he would p on the way back I was with my cl and he saw me looking and looked at me as he past by for a few seconds as he went past.
