For people who own or have owned a hamster?

Well, I have a 1 1/2 year old cinnamon banded Syrian hamster, Her name is Emma. And I have a 1 month old European Black Syrian hamster. His name is Sammy. Even though there is a big age difference, can they still breed. Because my dad doesn't want a litter or pups, but the hamsters are NOT in the same cages, but I like to take them out to play with each other because they like to play with each other. So if you have bred hamsters before, can you help me. ( Sammy is a boy , and Emma is a girl )
